Glow star raps emotional tribute to murdered Glasgow dad-of-three Owen Hassan

A Glow star has penned a rap tribute to murdered Glasgow dad Owen Hassan .

The 30-year-old was killed outside his mum Shawland's bar, the Old Stag Inn pub, in November last year.

She performed CPR on her son but was unable to save him and he tragically passed away in her arms.

Two men have since been over his death.

Rudi Neequaye, also 30, has now emotionally relived his friendship with the slain father-of-three in a poignant YouTube video.

Rudi told the Record: "It's a project I've been working on since January.

"Me and Owen had been mates since first year at the now pulled-down Belarmine secondary school.

"We ended up leading very different lives but always kept in touch through adulthood and into fatherhood.

"Owen was a huge rap fan. I wanted to make the track not just for him, but for his kids, his family and other people from Pollock and Glasgow who can relate."

The video shows Rudi rapping across significant locations across the city while clips of the tragic dad laughing with his pals and family play on screen.

At one point the reality star sits on the bonnet of a Jaguar while driving past the house where Owen grew up as a child.

Clutching a bottle of Buckfast, Rudi says he misses his "comrade" who is the "best guy you'll meet".

Other sites include Pollock Park, housing schemes in the area and Silverburn rooftop car park.

Important figures in Owen's life also appear in the footage - some who don't have social media and were appearing on camera for the first time in memory of their pal.

He added: "The group in the video were all significant people in Owen's life.

"Some of them don't even have Facebook, so it was a big deal for them to get involved and appear on camera. It was really special."

At one point Rudi pours tonic wine onto the ground outside the pub on Greenview Street where he was killed.

His head bowed, he then launches the Buckfast bottle into the air, while saying: "You treated others equal and that was unknown. I'll never forget the love that was shown.

"RIP in Owen."

The remainder of the video shows Rudi playing the guitar while clips of Owen and his family play in the background.

Rudi continued: "The support has been overwhelming and really special.

"But it's not about me - it's about Owen and his life. It was about making something his kids and family can remember him by for years to come."

Police previously said Owen died as a result of his injuries in an "extremely violent assault" by two men who approached him outside his mum's boozer.

Owen made it back to his mum's pub, where she and a group of patrons desperately tried to keep him alive while emergency services were called.

Despite their best efforts, he died a short time later at the Queen Elizabeth University  Hospital .
