Glover Quin believes the 2nd year under Matt Patricia will be a lot better in Detroit

Freshly retired safety Glover Quin made a guest appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Wednesday to talk about his 10-year career and his future plans. Quin also was asked about his thoughts on the Detroit Lions, where he played six seasons.

“Hopefully they do well,” Quin told hosts Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan when asked about what he thinks of the 2019 Lions. “(There are) some great players still there. Hopefully they can do well.”

On the switch to Matt Patricia from Jim Caldwell at head coach, Quin noted it was tough for a lot of players.

“It’s a tough transition whenever you bring in a new head coach,” Quin stated. “The first year can always be a little tough, just trying to learn a new system. Learn new ways.”

Quin continued,

“A lot of times your second year is a lot better. The players are used to you now, they’re used to the system. They understand it a little better. They’ve got a new offense so that is a challenge. But hopefully they do pretty well.”

He ended the answer with a proud, “Hopefully they do well, I’ve got nothing but love for the Lions.”
