A boy, 16, has died after being knifed in the street with a murder investigation launched.
Police were called to Stratton Road in Gloucester shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, to a report of a serious assault. It has since been confirmed that a teenager was stabbed.
Emergency services remain on the scene this morning, as police conduct an investigation and door-to-door enquiries.
Former councillor Said Hansdot last night told Gloucestershire Live that it bothered him this was happening in his neighbourhood.
"I walk there every day and it is a worry," he said.
A parent who lives in the area who wants to remain anonymous reacted angrily to the news of the stabbing.

"I just want to know what the police are going to do about youth crime and especially stabbings. Are they going to be more visually present?" they asked.
"Now buses are being cancelled left right and centre it's really not a safe place for anyone let alone our children at night."
Councillor Usman Bhaimia, who represents the Barton and Tredworth ward, where this incident happened, said police were doing their very best with the resources they have in the area, but that it was not enough.

"Police are doing a good job at the moment in spite of the virus and the cuts to the service."
When asked about the reaction from local people yesterday evening, Cllr Bhaimia said: "They say, look, councillor, again this is happening. What are people like you doing about it?"
He said: "People are scared," adding that some people avoid the area due to a fear of being stabbed.

The councillor says that there are many issues affecting the area, from fly-tipping to drugs and knife crime, and says that people tend to blame the police for slow response times.
But he feels there are much more deeply-engrained issues in the area that need addressing primarily by the council.
He added: "As a councillor, I put my head down in shame at what's happening here."
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a serious assault on Stratton Road, Gloucester, shortly after 6pm.
"One person had been stabbed. The victim is believed to be a teenage male and inquiries are ongoing to establish his identity.
"Roads in the area remain closed and investigating officers are now examining CCTV footage and conducting house-to-house inquiries.
"Anyone with information or who witnessed anything should contact police through the website, quoting incident number 389 of 15 December."
