Glorious Goodwood day three tips with all the action from day four

NOBLE DYNASTY (3.00) can bag the Golden Mile for all-conquering Charlie Appleby on Day Four of Glorious Goodwood. The gelding oozed potential when second to Mutasaabeq in a hot event at Newmarket in April 2021. However, he didn’t please everyone when chinning A Boy Named Ivy on his handicap bow at Thirsk. The four-year-old’s reputation took another few knocks with lacklustre efforts at Haydock and HQ. The son of Dubawi atoned when routing the useful Echo Point on his comeback at the Sussex venue. This big prize has been the target ever since so he can land a gamble from a kind draw in stall three.

The Godolphin handler can also take the Glorious Stakes with REBEL'S ROMANCE (4.10). The four-year-old relished tackling 1m 2f when routing Panadol in a Grade 2 on the Dirt at Meydan. However, he appeared to go off the boil when unplaced twice on the same surface there last Winter. The gelding bounced back when hosing up from Kemari on his Turf bow in a Newmarket Listed race. The son of Dubawi stayed 1m 4f well that day so he can add this trappy Group 3 to his growing tally.

SUPER SUPERJACK (1.50) can rise to the challenge for Milton Harris in the Goodwood Stakes. The five-year-old returned with an impressive defeat of Orin Swift over two miles here in April. The gelding improved again when decisively disposing of Evaluation in a better event at Ascot. The stayer was then unlucky to meet the thriving Evaluation in another warm contest at York. He ran another stormer when third to Dancing Harry over an inadequate 1m 6f at Salisbury. The son of Harbour Watch is tailor-made for this marathon so he can score for his shrewd yard.

BERKSHIRE SHADOW (2.25) can shade the Thoroughbred Stakes for in-form Andrew Balding. The colt ended 2021 with an honourable fourth to Native Trail in the Dewhurst at Newmarket. The three-year-old equalled that effort when fifth to Coroebus in the 2000 Guineas back at HQ. The grey wasn’t disgraced again when a respectable sixth in the St James’s Palace at Ascot. He put in another strong shift when third behind Mighty Ulysses in a Newmarket Listed event. That was an above-par race for the grade so this pacey type can take a slightly weaker contest.

Roger Varian’s MITBAAHY (3.35) can reign in a terrific renewal of the King George Stakes. Useful at two, the colt improved again when second to Boonie on his return at Nottingham. The speedster put that effort to good use when hammering Edward Cornelius at Hamilton. He took another huge step forward when routing Live In The Dream in the Sandown Scurry. The three-year-old was then unlucky not to catch Raasel in a Group 3 back at the Esher gaff. The son of Profitable is open to plenty of progress so he can turn the tables on his old rival.

EXPLICIT (4.45) can give Mark Johnston more glory at this meeting in the Coral Nursery. The juvenile bagged valuable events in pleasing style at York and Musselburgh last month. The colt kept up the good work with a creditable second to New Definition at Kempton. Poor at York, he returned to form with a good second to Star Of Lady M at Musselburgh. That is excellent form so the sprinter can deny some exciting rivals at a worthwhile price.

OMNISCIENT (5.20) rates a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver in the Oliver Brown Handicap. The son of Mukhadram showed very little over trips around seven furlongs early in his career. The gelding left those efforts behind when third on his first try over 1m 1f at Wolverhampton. He swiftly opened his account by showing At Liberty no mercy upped a furlong at Yarmouth. The three-year-old was staying-on strongly so he can follow up for his thriving yard over 1m 4f.

CUBAN CIGAR (6.10) looks smoking hot on Bernard Hunter Friday Racenight at Musselburgh. Lucinda Russell’s gelding put in a career best on the Flat when third to Red Force One here. The four-year-old didn’t quite stay two miles so he can land this easier contest down in trip.

GEORGIAVA (6.45) can maintain Karl Burke’s tremendous run in the nursery. The filly was better than ever when edged out by Run Cmc in a maiden over track and trip. The grey is a sure-fire improver in handicaps so she can triumph after recent wind surgery.

The Yorkshire Ace can double-up with MISS BRAZEN (7.20) in the novices’ event. The rapid-improver can shrug off a well-earned 4lb hike for thrashing Hizaam at Thirsk.

Bryan Smart’s PALAZZO (7.50) is very difficult to oppose in the classified contest. The gelding was a fair second to Bobby Shaftoe on his return over course and distance. The six-year-old still lurks on an attractive Turf mark so he should resume winning ways.

CALL ME GINGER (8.20) can cut ‘em down to size in the Donaldson Timber Handicap. Jim Goldie’s speedster got right back on track with a cosy defeat of King Of Stars at Ascot. The gelding remains well-treated so he should strike while the iron is hot dropped in class.

SUGAR BABY (8.50) looks sweet for skilled Peter Niven in the Cal Clark Handicap. The gelding atoned for some tepid efforts when brushing aside Foreseeable Future at Thirsk. The sprinter scored with plenty in hand so he should take full advantage of an inviting mark.
