Gloria Hunniford has revealed she "will never retire" and speaks of the strong Northern Irish work ethic that keeps her going.
The 81-year-old presenter was speaking on the Show and Tell with Christopher Biggins podcast when she announced her contract on BBC show Rip Off Britain has been extended until 2023.
Although she is delighted at being able to continue working, as she "loves learning", she joked that her husband, Stephen Way, might "keel over" when he hears she'll still be working at 83.
The Portadown native also noted that her son, Michael, is trying to tempt her to quit and take it easy in France, but Gloria said she's not the type to put her feet up, which she puts down to the Northern Irish work ethic she grew up with.
She said: "I'm very proud the longevity has been there. Michael, he'll say, 'Mum, why don't you go sit in France for months at a time?' When you're allowed to go to France, of course.
"But I say to him, 'I don't want to do that. I don't want to sit somewhere and not do anything.'
"I was brought up in Northern Ireland to work. Northern Ireland has a fantastic work ethic, on all levels. And I want to work. I love learning something every day.
"I often say to young people, if you get a bit of luck, you have to work at it to keep it. So here I am in my 81st year, still working and commissioned until 2023, so that's not bad."
Gloria, who co-hosts Rip Off Britain with co-hosts Angela Rippon, 76, and Julia Somerville, 74, said the show would not work if it was fronted by younger presenters, because viewers wouldn't trust them as much.
The programme focuses on exposing and rectifying the nation's consumer nightmares. Viewers send in submissions detailing how they feel they've been ripped off, which the presenters use to undertake their own investigation into the situation.
Gloria explained: "Because we've all lived a bit, we've been around the block a bit, the public believe us when we tell them about consumer affairs."
