Global Screen Sells 'Davos 1917' Spy Drama To North America

Davos 1917

Global Screen, a leading European distributor and part of Westbrook's Telepool, has successfully sold the premium spy drama series 'Davos 1917' to North America and additional free-to-air broadcasters in Europe. The series has been picked up by Global Series Network for its innovative SVOD feed Walter Presents in North America. Furthermore, national broadcaster RTP in Portugal, Filmin VOD services in Spain and Portugal, Mediaset in Italy, MTVA in Hungary, and ORF in Austria have also acquired the series.

'Davos 1917' is a six-part thriller inspired by real events from the early days of European secret services. The series boasts a stellar cast including Dominique Devenport, David Kross, Jeanette Hain, Max Herbrechter, Sunnyi Melles, and Stipe Erceg. Set in 1917 during the turmoil of World War I, the story unfolds in Davos, a neutral Swiss health resort, where secret agents from world powers are operating undercover. The plot revolves around a young woman's quest to reunite with her daughter who was taken from her at birth.

The series, created in German and Swiss-German with English subtitles and dubbed in French and Italian, is a production of Contrast Film, Letterbox Filmproduktion, Amalia Film, SRF, and ARD Degeto. The talented team behind 'Davos 1917' includes directors Jan-Eric Mack, Anca Miruna Lazarescu, and Christian Theede, with Adrian Illien as the creator and head writer. Co-writers Thomas Hess, Julia Penner, and Michael Sauter, along with DoPs Tobias Dengler and Timon Schäppi, have contributed to bringing this captivating series to life.
