Global round-up: French companies asked to stockpile face masks

French companies are being asked to stockpile enough face masks to last 10 weeks in the event of a second wave of infections.

Economy minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher said: “We’re preparing for the start of the school year and there is a risk of re-circulation of the virus.”

The number of confirmed infections in India has topped 600,000, with health authorities reporting 19,148 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The Danish football cup final between Aalborg and SonderjyskE had to be suspended for 14 minutes after a group of fans refused to obey strict social-distancing rules. The “ultra” Aalborg fans were thrown out of the neutral Esbjerg stadium for refusing to stay at least one metre apart.

Australia’s Northern Territory has detected its first person with Covid-19 in three months

Northern Territory health minister Natasha Fyles said the man returned from Melbourne on Monday before 36 of the city’s suburbs were locked down for a month, starting last night.
