An international search for five key leaders to help shape the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic games is underway, including the president of the organising committee.
The committee will oversee the sports program, athlete and official accommodation, and cultural and sporting events such as the torch relay and opening and closing ceremonies.
At least one of the directors will be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, and there will be balanced representation of men and women, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said on Tuesday.
"The (organising committee) will be responsible for driving Brisbane 2032 forward and delivering a great Olympic and Paralympic Games. To do this we need to recruit the best people in the world," she said.
The recruitment drive is a joint process between the Queensland and federal governments as well as executive firm Odgers Berndtson.
As well as the five directors, the premier and prime minister will nominate four people each to make up the organising committee.
It will also include the Brisbane lord mayor and their nominee, and recent Olympic and Paralympic athletes among other officials.
The five independent directors will be determined by the premier and the prime minister, and the roles are "vital" for a successful games, Australian Olympic Committee chief executive Matt Carroll said.
"From the AOC perspective, there's such a great opportunity to supercharge sport in Queensland and Australia more broadly. The right people will help us achieve that goal," he said.
