A GLOBAL personal development firm has announced it will cut 30 jobs from one of its offices in Scotland, despite an annual turnover of almost £100 million.
Insights, which claims to improve people’s “self-awareness” and become “more effective” at their jobs, will make 30 people redundant, according to The Courier.
The firm, which employs 240 staff in the Scottish city, said a total of 100 roles will be impacted globally following a restructuring of the company.
The company’s website boasts that 10m people from some of the world’s leading organisations have “experienced the power of Insights”, including the NHS, Samsung, Deliveroo and Indeed.
Scottish staff based in Insights offices at Dundee’s Technology Park were told of the job losses during an international conference call on Thursday, according to The Courier.
Bosses at Insights reportedly said they needed to cut staff to “stay competitive in a changing world”, despite the firm posting an annual turnover just shy of £100m.
In a statement, Insights chief executive Fiona Logan reportedly described the planned redundancies as a “purposeful transformation”.
“We understand that there is a real human impact to our decisions and we are handling the process with care and respect for everyone involved,” she said.
“At the same time, we continue to believe deeply in our products and our exceptional ability to create a world where people truly understand themselves and others and are inspired to make a positive difference in everything they do.”

Logan added: “Despite cutbacks in some parts of our business, we are also opening up exciting new opportunities.
“We remain ambitious in our goals and committed to inspiring our communities, deepening the impact of our purpose and staying competitive in a changing world.”
In July 2020, Insights cut 75 jobs, approximately 15% of the workforce at the time, as bosses of the firm blamed a downturn in business on the Covid pandemic.
