In some big esports news to start your week, Global Esports Industry Week (GEIW) 2026 has confirmed it will return to Cologne this June, bringing together over 400 industry executives for one of esports’ biggest weeks. The event runs from June 18 until the 21 and takes place at the Hyatt Regency Cologne. Its timing with the IEM Cologne Counter-Strike Major Finals at the LANXESS Arena is nothing less than perfect.
Organized jointly by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) and The Esports Radar with ESL FACEIT Group as Host Partner, GEIW 2026 is well-established as the industry’s number one B2B networking opportunity. The main conference takes place Thursday and Friday, with additional social events including a fun padel tournament (places are still up for grabs), tasty dinners, and the exclusive Esports Leaders Honours ceremony that will recognize outstanding contributions to the industry’s growth and development. Anyone who is anyone in esports is sure to be there.
Heavyweight speaker lineup spans gaming giants
The agenda will be centred around executives from major gaming publishers and global brands who will use the opportunity to address some of the biggest challenges that the industry is currently fronting up to. EA Senior Director of Esports Product Sam Turkbas will head a session on “The EA Esports Ecosystem in 2026,” while Discord’s Global Teen Policy Manager Kristelle Lavallee is set to discuss youth safety initiatives as part of her talk.
“We’re really happy with this year’s line up for GEIW, we’ve some excellent speakers from different regions and different areas who’ll be able to ensure the event provides multiple perspectives and great insights,” said Sam Cooke, CEO of The Insights Group (The Esports Radar). The programming mixes emerging market opportunities with NODWIN Managing Director Akshat Rathee – and it also includes sustainability discussions that will feature KRAFTON’s Director of Esports Atila Yesildag.
Multiple event tracks target different audiences
GEIW 2026 operates across a number of highly distinct programming tracks. The main IMPACT Live conference remains open to everyone and will feature panels, a networking expo, as well as the usual keynotes. Unless you’ve got an invite, though, you won’t be able to get into the Esports Leaders track, which will focus on high-level strategic discussions among senior executives.
The week will begin with a cozy fireside chat led by Esports Foundation CEO Ralf Reichert, who will talk about the upcoming Esports World Cup in Paris. He’s also expected to discuss the inaugural Esports Nations Cup later this year.
One final way in.

Additional roundtable sessions cover topics investment opportunities in emerging markets and non-endemic brand activations.
Strategic timing maximizes networking potential
The conference’s timing with IEM Cologne means there’ll be plenty of unique networking opportunities in mid-June, with a number of industry leaders already in Germany for Counter-Strike‘s premier event. As such, key decision-makers who perhaps would rather dodge a standalone business conference could be tempted by GEIW.
Stephen Hanna, CEO of the Esports Integrity Commission, certainly recognized the collaborative focus when he said: “The Global Esports Industry Week is about bringing the right people into the room to tackle the opportunities and responsibilities shaping our industry’s future. With leaders from publishers, teams, brands, technology providers, regulators and communities coming together in Cologne, GEIW 2026 provides an important platform for collaboration, shared standards and practical progress.”
Industry heavyweights confirm attendance
A quick glance at the attendee list tells us that so many of the esports ecosystem’s key movers and shakers will be there. The list of gaming publishers alone is enough to whet one’s appetite, with the likes of Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and KRAFTON all present and correct.
Looking at the list of team organizations, meanwhile, our eyes can’t help but wander towards luminaries like Team Vitality, FURIA, GT Esports and Falcons. BLAST and ESL FACEIT Group are in there as tournament organizers.
Building on previous GEIW success
GEIW 2026 is set to build on the success of GEIW 2025, which took place in Austin and laid the groundwork for the model of pairing premier esports events with business conferences. Leaders who gathered for major tournaments were able to mingle with key players – and snap-up new opportunities.
The Cologne event now has the chance to take advantage of any lessons that were learned from Austin while keeping onto the intimate atmosphere that makes GEIW so much better than larger trade shows. The fact that attendance is limited, meanwhile, guarantees there’ll be lots of meaningful connections between decision-makers across different sectors of the esports industry.
The event is sure to be hella exciting and concludes Friday evening with the Esports Leaders Honours ceremony.
