The International Energy Agency has said that demand for energy is unlikely to recover from the pandemic slump before 2023, or even later if the effects of the outbreak are prolonged. Demand for oil plunged by over 8 percent in 2020, and the IEA believes oil growth will halt within ten years. Carbon emissions from energy production have also fallen this year. Also today, unions at Airbus vote to approve a plan which will see thousands of job cuts, but avoid compulsory redundancies.
