Global clothing brand Jayley to open new outlet store in North Staffordshire

Luxury clothing brand Jayley is expanding its retail presence as it gears up for its busiest time of the year.

The Stoke-on-Trent company – which specialises in quality womenswear and accessories – has recently opened a new store inside the former Terraces unit at The Trentham Estate.

And later this month, Jayley is opening a new outlet store inside the Affinity Staffordshire shopping centre – as part of its commitment to North Staffordshire.

The new store – which is being officially opened on September 27 – will add to Jayley’s growing portfolio of stores at Trentham and Birmingham.

Digital office manager Ramaya Hany said: “We specialise in luxury clothing and staple pieces rather than fast fashion.

“A lot of our pieces are investment pieces, they are made with high-end materials such as fine furs, cashmere and silk.

“We are based in Stoke-on-Trent, but we exhibit at trade shows all around the world, such as Paris and Milan, and our collections are sold in boutiques worldwide.

“There are two sides to the business – we have the wholesale side and the retail side, and it is the retail side that we are looking to grow.”

Jayley was started by husband-and-wife Zhong and Jean Li – whose family have been in fashion for many years.

Most of the clothing is designed by Jean – who takes inspiration from her Chinese heritage – before being manufactured in China using premium fabrics.

Today the company boasts a 20-strong team of staff who operate from two units at Trentham Lakes and a warehouse at the nearby Newstead Industrial Estate.

Ramaya said: “We will soon be launching our new Autumn/Winter collection and at the end of the month we will also be opening our new outlet store at Affinity Staffordshire, which we are really excited about.

“The run up to Christmas is our busiest period so we will be doing a lot of in-store promotions in the next few months to showcase our products.”

Kelly Causley, sales office coordinator, added: “As a brand, Jayley is sold all over the world, which is a great achievement for a Stoke-on-Trent business, but locally we are not very well known.

“So we are keen to open retail stores locally and welcome new customers from North Staffordshire and beyond.”
