A reward is being offered to witnesses after Glider staff were attacked in Belfast.

Translink is offering a reward of up to £1,000 to anyone prepared to testify in court after two staff members were assaulted on a Glider in the Short Strand area this afternoon, Saturday, September 21.

It is understood the workers were attacked by a man on board the Glider. CCTV is being downloaded from the Glider vehicle to be given to the PSNI .

In a statement on Saturday evening, a Translink spokeswoman said: "We can confirm two Glider staff were assaulted during the course of their duties this afternoon.

"The safety of our passengers and staff is our top priority.

"We utterly condemn attacks on our personnel and we offer a reward of up to £1,000 to anyone prepared to testify in court, leading to a conviction.

"We are working with these staff to ensure they receive all supports they require.

"On board camera footage and CCTV is being downloaded from the Glider vehicle and will be supplied to the PSNI to assist with their investigation."
