Gleyber Torres hit two more HRs against Baltimore and everyone felt bad for Gary Thorne

New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres did it again to the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night as he crushed his 12th home in 16 games against the O’s this season.

Welp, moments after this post was published Torres hit another home run, bring his total to 13 against Baltimore this year, which ties him for second in MLB history for the most homers hit off one team in a year.

That is just crazy. And it’s also sad for Baltimore, especially when you notice that Chris Davis only has nine home runs all year for the Orioles.

Torres. who has 26 total home runs on the season, belted a three-run shot in  the fifth inning and everyone on Twitter immediately wondered how the Orioles announcer, the legendary Gary Thorne, handled the call, as he was so frustrated back in May when Torres hit two home runs in a game.

It’s been a long few years for the Orioles, as they’ve been absolutely terrible. And it seems like Thorne has just given in to the darkness and isn’t about to let these home runs break him too badly… because he was probably broken long before this, having to call so many losses.

Yankee great Paul O’Neill was kind enough to stop in to the booth to make sure Thorne was OK after the second homer:
