Glentoran join Liverpool, Rangers and Bayern Munich in social standings

Glentoran might be playing catch-up in the Danske Bank Premiership but they're top of the table when it comes to social media.

The East Belfast club have been listed as Northern Ireland's top club in social networks during 2020.

That was from statistics collected by Deportes and Finanzes (Sports and Finances), with the Glens joining clubs including Liverpool, Rangers, Shamrock Rovers and Bayern Munich who emerged as the top social media club in their respective countries.

The stats take a deep dive into platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and look at total interactions taken from each club's posts.

Glentoran are one of many Irish League clubs who are very active on all social media, from promoting club news and signings, conducting supporter polls and publishing videos.

It has added a new stream of interactive club activity for fans to enjoy, keeping them engaged with their clubs during the coronavirus pandemic.
