Glentoran confirm Cameron Stewart eligibility dispute has been resolved

Glentoran have confirmed that an eligibility dispute involving striker Cameron Stewart has been resolved.

Linfield had queried the registration of Stewart after he played in the 3-3 Big two draw back in November.

The Blues felt there was a discrepancy in the player's registration, but the issue has been cleared up with no further action.

Glentoran said in a statement: "The club is pleased to confirm that after a recent report and investigation, the Player Registration Sub Committee of the Irish Football Association considered the report made by an outside body, and following a response by Glentoran the governing body has confirmed in writing that no further action will be taken on this matter.

"This means that Cameron is now available for selection and will join the rest of the first team squad at Mourneview Park this afternoon."

Glentoran return to Premiership action on Saturday with a trip to Glenavon.

Two games are off due to frozen pitches: Ballymena United vs Cliftonville and Carrick Rangers vs Portadown.
