Glentoran boost squad with the capture of Dungannon Swifts captain Seanan Clucas

Glentoran have boosted their squad with the capture of experienced Dungannon Swifts captain and midfielder Seanan Clucas.

The 27-year-old, who has also played for Preston North End, Bristol Rovers, Linfield and Derry City, is the Oval club’s fourth arrival during the January transfer window.

Clucas, who has scored four goals in all competitions for the Swifts this season, joins Andrew Mitchell, Caolan Marron and Ciaran O’Connor as new arrivals this month.

Glens boss Mick McDermott said: “Seanan will be a great addition to our team. He brings quality, a physical presence and can play in multiple positions.

“He is a proven quality performer in the Danske Bank Premiership and I am absolutely delighted to have him at Glentoran.

“I would also like to thank Dungannon Swifts for the professional way in which they have conducted this deal.”

Clucas is currently serving a suspension and won’t be available for selection until the middle of February.

Glentoran confirmed his signing on their website and social media accounts with the player welcomed to The Oval by assistant boss Paul Miller and Roy Coyle.
