Glentoran announce departure of goalkeeper Marijan Antolovic

Croatian goalkeeper Marijan Antolovic has left Glentoran.

The Irish Cup winners confirmed the 31-year-old's departure on Wednesday.

Antolovic didn't play in last week's semi-finals or final, with Elliott Morris featuring in the club's cup games.

The former Croatia Under-21 keeper, who was linked with a move to Liverpool and Spurs in 2010, joined the Glens in July 2019 along with midfielder Hrvoje Plum.

Glens head coach Mick McDermott told the club's website: "I would like to thank Marijan for his hard work and commitment since he came to Glentoran.

"He is a great person and through his very professional attitude and behaviour he has been a great help to us in the first important stages of our journey into full time football.

"He has now chosen to return to Croatia to further his career and also to spend more time with his family.

"He leaves Belfast knowing that he is part of Glentoran's history and leaves with an Irish Cup Winner's medal.

"I wish him all the very best in life and every success in his future career."
