Glenn Middleton's Rangers Glasgow Cup Final screamer from a stunning new angle

There can hardly be a better time to choose to unleash a 'worldie' than in the closing stages of a cup final with your side a goal behind.

Especially when the clash is against your arch rivals.

But that's exactly what Rangers forward Glenn Middleton pulled out the bag in Tuesday's Glasgow Cup Final when he almost burst the Celtic net with one swipe of his left foot from 30 yards out.

The young Gers may have eventually lost out 3-2 in a thrilling 90 minutes at Parkhead but that hasn't stopped Rangers fans gushing over Middleton's strike, his second of the match.

Celtic went on to win the match thanks to Robbie Deas' excellent finish deep into injury time.

The Hoops gained revenge for last week's defeat to Rangers by the same scoreline in the Youth Cup Final.

In a final installment of the youth battle, both sides go into the final match of the Reserve League campaign next week locked on the same points.
