Glenn Hoddle has explained why Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard deserves a place in the Premier League Hall of Fame.
The English top flight are beginning to enter names into the brand new, prestigious list of the best players ever to grace the competition since it’s formation in 1992.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and record goalscorer Alan Shearer are the two inaugural members to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Voting has recently opened to the general public of who they want to see next inducted into the honourable list.
Among the list of candidates from a Liverpool perspective include Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen.
Glenn Hoddle, who spent time at Chelsea and Tottenham as a player, has explained the two players he would include in the Hall of Fame.
After naming former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes, Hoddle then went on to say why Gerrard more than deserved a place.
“I don’t think you can have a Hall of Fame without Steven Gerrard,” said Hoddle, speaking to PremierLeague.com .
“And even though he didn’t win the league, what he did for Liverpool at that time was incredible.
“And another player, you just would walk a million miles to go and watch them play. I really would.”
