Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle has questioned whether or not Jose Mourinho has lost his 'mojo' after Spurs crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at the hands of German club RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening.
After losing the first-leg 1-0, Spurs travelled to Germany in the hope of producing a comeback. But those hopes were dashed within the first 21 minutes, as a double from Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer put the contest beyond all doubt.
Leipzig, who have progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time in their history, dominated throughout the night and put the gloss on the victory inside the final few minutes, with substitute Emil Forsberg adding a third, to make it 4-0 on aggregate.
With Spurs now winless in six and looking as though they are going to be in need of a great amount of attention on the transfer front come the summer, Hoddle has hinted that he is questioning whether Mourinho is the right man for the job, raising the question of whether the former Manchester United boss still has is own 'self belief'.
Hoddle told BT Sport: "As a Spurs man, I just wondered, in my heart, has he lost his mojo? Has he lost his self belief? Only he would know that know.
"I am hoping he hasn't for Tottenham's sake, I really do.
"In a way, I think he does need to rebuild. Not in terms of just getting players, but he needs to re-build that team in the way that he is going to put them out there or get them in a shape where he knows exactly what they are doing, every player, whoever comes from the bench.
"That is the plan and that is what we're going to do."
