New research has revealed the "best wintry hotels in the UK", and a popular Scottish destination features in the top 10.
With more than a month left of winter, choosing the right spot for a relaxing getaway can be difficult. With temperatures still low, it is important to choose a hotel that offers a cosy escape from the hustle and bustle.
Property specialists Stelrad sought to uncover the most popular wintry hotels in the UK according to the number of views TikTok. They found that the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire is Scotland’s top winter hotel hotspot, and sixth overall in the UK, with approximately 734,200 views on the video sharing platform.
The prestigious resort is set in the heart of Scotland, near the town of Auchterarder. The three-storey category B listed building dates back to 1924, and includes over 200 rooms.
According to the Gleneagles website, its rooms are "as glorious as the landscape that frames them, with a luxury 5 star hotel feel". Each one has been uniquely inspired by the mountains, meadows, rivers, and lakes of the surrounding Perthshire countryside.
The hotel also features 10 restaurants and bars, which "provide the perfect backdrop for special family celebrations, post-round drinks, romantic dinners and cosy nightcaps". Among the highlights is Andrew Fairlie, which was crowned the best restaurant in the UK earlier this month.
Over winter, the hotel even offers a special Winter Lodge and Adventure Pass, which it describes as "a warm and cosy space for you to come and go as you please". As well as access to the hotel's Winter Lodge, the Adventure Pass gives guests access to a choice of experiences during their stay such as a Guided Estate Walk or a Bird of Prey Display at Dusk.
Coming in at number one on Stelrad's list, with a staggering 200,000,000 TikTok views, is Chewton Glen, Hampshire. The "quintessentially luxury, 5-star" hotel and spa is set on the edge of the enchanting New Forest and dates back to the 18th century.
Other hotels to feature in the list include Claridge's in Greater London, Coworth Park in Ascot, and Cliveden House in Berkshire. Read on for a roundup of the top 10.
