Gleneagles Hotel worker tests positive for coronavirus

A worker at Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire has tested positive for coronavirus.

Bosses at the plush golf resort confirmed an administration staff member within the hotel had been struck with the virus.

They claimed the infected employee had no interaction with guests and said colleagues who had been in contact with the person are now self isolating at home.

The hotel has remained open as normal.

A Gleneagles spokesperson said: “This was an isolated case affecting an administrative member of our team who has no interaction with guests.

“All those colleagues who had contact with the individual were notified through NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect programme and are now self-isolating in line with government guidance.

“We will continue to monitor the situation carefully.

“The safety of everyone who comes to Gleneagles is our top priority.”
