Glenda Gilson gives heartwarming update after giving birth to baby boy

Glenda Gilson said she is “feeling good” after giving birth to her son Danny this week.

The Ireland AM presenter and her husband Rob MacNaughton had their little bundle of joy in the Coombe Hospital on Wednesday.

Speaking to Jennifer Zamperelli on RTE 2Fm yesterday, she said: “I’m feeling good, and this little guy has arrived safe and sound and that’s all you really want.

“You go through labour and pain and then your worries are over when he’s OK and you get the thumbs up.

“Rob kind of drove me to the Coombe, got me out of the car, he lifted the bag in and he had to hand it to a guy at the door and I kind of said goodbye. We said our goodbyes through our mask and I went in and I was there for hours until labour started.

“And then I gave him a call, woke him up and down he came again and in the door and I met him downstairs in the labour ward and he was able to stay with me through labour and for a while afterwards and then out the door again when I was going into the ward.

“It was sad, you get upset because you’re emotional as well.

“But it’s the little things. I was so tired, I was up 24 hours at that stage and it was nice to have Rob there for a little while and I could close my eyes, knew the baby was alright.

“I went down to greet him at the door, there was about 100 men queuing waiting to get in.

“The nurses are brilliant and doing everything

they should be doing.

“It was grand, I’m

not even going to talk about it [the labour]. I’m going home on Friday.”
