Glencore boss Glasenberg plans more share purchases after £10m deal

An update on the Glencore share buying activities of its chief executive Ivan Glasenberg.

Earlier the company announced he had spent £10m on 2.25m shares, and now it appears more purchases are on the way.

As previously mentioned he is in line for a $54m dividend payment at the end of the month, and he is planning to use that to add to his 16% stake in the business. Glencore has said:

Mr Glasenberg has notified the company he shall seek to make further acquisitions of shares up to and including 21 September (when the company's current open period for directors' dealings closes) up to the value of the interim dividend of approximately $54m due to be paid in respect of his shareholding.

Glencore shares, which have been strong all day, are now up 13.25p at 450.5p.
