Glenboig school kids donate to local foodbank after hearing about food shortage

Generous Glenboig schoolchildren did their bit for hungry local residents.

Our Lady and St Joseph’s Primary sprang into action when it discovered Coatbridge Community Foodbank was running low on supplies.

Teacher Alison Tumilty enlisted the help of her Primary Four pupils – and their families and friends – to organise an end-of-term collection.

Hundreds of items were put into bags and delivered to delighted staff at the foodbank.

A school spokesperson said: “We were absolutely thrilled with the amount of items we were able to collect.

“The school wishes to thank Mrs Tumilty, her pupils and anyone who donated to this wonderful cause.”
