Glenboig residents' difficulty as post office to be closed for rest of the year

Glenboig residents will have to go further afield to access postal services after the village Post Office “temporarily closed” to allow for an “extensive refurbishment of the premises”.

The remodelling work is expected to take “approximately three-to-four months” to complete, with the Main Street facility scheduled to re-open for business on Wednesday, January 15.

During this period of closure, which is being implemented with “the safety of customers” in mind, villagers can access Post Office services from a number of other nearby branches.

These include the offices in Townhead and Moodiesburn, which are situated at 66C Leven Road and 71 Glenmanor Avenue respectively.

Angela Smith, Post Office change manager, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the refurbishment.”
