The programme will combine sporting and education, giving participants a platform to progress their sporting career and higher level study in sports management and sport science.

Curriculum Area Manager, Matt Turner from SRC told Glenavon's website : “The College are very excited to be embarking on this project with Glenavon F.C to help develop players from a variety of football clubs across the region.

“We will afford the appropriate time and resource to ensure that we get this right and better the lives of young people and give them the best possible opportunities to strive for excellence sporting and academic fronts.

“There is a lot of hard work ahead, but we remain committed to ensure that we can deliver a what we consider is a beneficial partnership for all.”

Glenavon Academy Chairman Jason King added: “Glenavon FC Academy are delighted to announce our intention to partner with SRC in order to provide a full-time training and educational programme.

"Glenavon Academy and SRC are fully engaged in this process and we are determined to provide a programme that is second to none.”
