Glenavon chairman Adrian Teer has rubbished claims that the club has placed a £50,000 price tag on Rhys Marshall.
Teer revealed that the Lurgan Blues have rejected two bids from Larne for the 24-year-old, but denied that the Mourneview Park club had named a price for the player.
It was reported on Saturday that the club were looking a fee in the region of £50,000 for Marshall.
“Larne made two bids for Rhys, both of which were rejected outright by our board,” Teer told the club's website.
“At the time of each bid I told Larne as far as Glenavon is concerned Rhys Marshall is not for sale.
“The figure of £50,000 was never mentioned during our conversations and I can confirm that our club has never even suggested a possible transfer fee.
"I am happy to put the record straight.”
Larne manager Tiernan Lynch told the Belfast Telegraph: "We put a bid in but Glenavon rejected it. We weren't going to go any further.
"Rhys is a player I really admire and I think would benefit from full-time football and that environment but what Glenavon were asking we weren't prepared to pay."
