Glen Kamara opens up on Rangers contract talks as Ibrox star urges patience

Finland star Glen Kamara expects a decision to be made on his Rangers future this summer.

The midfielder still has two years left on his deal but Steven Gerrard has been urging the club to tie him down on an extended deal for much of this season.

And he admits that talks have been ongoing with Rangers but nothing has been finalised yet because they have been focusing so much on their football.

Gerrard repeatedly said that contract extension and 'rewards' would be sorted out after the league title was won.

Kamara is one of a number of players Gerrard wants to get on an extended deal, as well as the likes of James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.

The midfielder has been a standout at the heart of the Rangers midfield, and he said: "There’s been some talks. The season has been good, we just became champions and it’s been a success so far.

"I’ve still got two years left of my contract so there’s still some time to see what happens and I think over the summer I’ll have more of an indication."

Kamara starts in midfield for Finland as they take on Bosnia in World Cup Qualifying, and his countrymen all wore shirts supporting him after he was racially abused by Ondrej Kudela last week.
