Glen Kamara 'not surprised' over Michael Beale Rangers future comments as he opens up on situation

Glen Kamara admits he is 'not surprised' over Michael Beale's comments regarding his future at Rangers.

The midfielder has struggled for consistent first team minutes under the new boss since his arrival and could be on his way out of the club as part of the Ibrox summer overhaul with reports claiming they will look to land a £5million transfer fee for the Finland star. That would net the club a huge profit having only paid £50,000 for his services.

Beale added to his midfield ranks in January with the additions of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin and both have went on to establish themselves as key players in his side. Ryan Jack has penned a new deal while Kieran Dowell is coming on a pre-contract. John Lundstram and Alex Lowry are also on the books in an area of the park with plenty of options.

Kamara has previously been linked with big money moves out of the club but it seems Rangers are now set to do business with comments from his club boss following a similar path to the conversations they have had behind closed doors.

The midfielder explained: “I’ve been on holiday mode so I’ve taken my mind off football. We had conversations a couple of months ago so I’m not surprised with those comments.

"I feel like I know where I’m at in my head and he knows it too. I’m not going to say anything, time will tell I guess.

“Can you assume I’m seriously considering a move? No comment. How do I reflect on my time there? It’s been amazing. Four-and-a-half years I'll have spent there come this summer.

“To join such a massive club and have all the support I did, the fans are amazing and depending on where you go next you might never see that again.

“They are crazy in a good way. The club’s stature is massive - having a Europa League run, winning the league, going unbeaten, winning a cup. I had some good times there.

"We could definitely have done better because with the teams we had we just came up short a few times. But I had a really good time, I won trophies there and did things I’d never done in my career before.”

Speaking previously about Kamara, Beale said: “For Glen, everything is open really. He is either going to be here for a considerable future or we will probably sell him this summer.

“I think he needs to look at the competition that’s here in pre-season and decide whether there is going to be enough football for him. It’s not my sole decision.

“It’s the decision of the board and everyone in between to make sure we make Rangers stronger and take us in a positive direction over the next three to five years."
