Glen Kamara lands new Rangers transfer exit option as Besiktas eye 'surprise' Dele Alli alternative

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is being viewed as a potential Besiktas Plan B if their pursuit of Dele Alli falls flat, according to reports.

The Everton playmaker was widely believed to be close to completing a move to the Turkish heavyweights earlier this month, but a transfer hasn't been announced by his current club or prospective new side. Kamara was left out of Rangers' 2-2 draw with Hibs on Saturday with rumours swirling that Ligue 1 club Nice – who signed Aaron Ramsey this summer – were preparing a bid.

Reports from Fotospor over in Turkey claim 'a surprise move from Besiktas' as their attempts to sign England international Alli slow down. Super Lig rivals Galatasaray are also believed to be keen on a deal, taking the clubs linked with the Finnish midfielder this summer up to five after rumoured Brighton and Salernitana interest. His contract expires in 2025 after an extension last year.

Anne Coric from Roma has also been mentioned as a possible signing for the Turkish club alongside Kamara if Alli's transfer doesn't happen. Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has previously said he hopes Kamara 'will stay a Rangers player for many years' amid the rumours.

But it seems Kamara is somewhat out of favour at Ibrox. It wouldn't be the first time the Light Blues have dealt with Besiktas this window, having signed left-back Ridvan Yilmaz from the Istanbul giants earlier this summer.
