Finland head coach Markku Kanerva has told Glen Kamara to play for a 'bigger club' than Rangers amid mounting transfer speculation.
Kamara has been earning rave reviews for his performances at Euro 2020 having starred against Denmark and Russia.
English Premier League new boys Watford have been named as among the potential suitors but Rangers are reportedly reluctant to sell the 25-year-old this summer.
However, talks over a new contract have been going on for months and that could lead Steven Gerrard to sell up the midfielder, having paid Dundee just £50K for his services in 2019.
Kanerva has now urged Kamara to continue his progress away from the Premiership champions in a "top league".
He told AFP: "Hopefully he will continue his development, it would be nice to see him playing even at bigger clubs."
Kamara has two years remaining on his deal at Rangers so the club would expect a significant fee is a deal was to be agreed.
Watford are claimed to have "discussed extensively" an offer for the Finland cap.
However, the former Arsenal kid said earlier this month he's not entertaining thoughts of a move at the moment.
"I'm a Rangers player until told otherwise," he told a Finnish podcast. "I'm not focused on anything else, it's been really good (at Rangers).
"We just won the league unbeaten and had a good European run, so I'm not really focused on anything else. My focus is on Finland right now.
"The club's on the up and everyone is looking forward to next season. We want to go and retain that title.
