Glen Johnson makes bold Liverpool Invincibles prediction that Arsenal supporters will love

Liverpool can't match Arsenal's Invincibles even if they remain unbeaten for the rest of the Premier League season.

That's according to former Reds defender Glen Johnson.

Jurgen Klopp's side remain unbeaten after 22 matches, having only dropped two points all season.

They are 16 points clear of their nearest Premier League rival, Manchester City, with a game in hand and appear to have the title sewn up by January.

With the title seemingly in the bag, the question on many Arsenal lips is whether they will match their Invincibles season.

With only a trip to the Emirates and the Etihad left in terms of the 'big six' there is a growing belief that Liverpool could go unbeaten.

However, regardless of whether they do or not, former Liverpool and Chelsea defender Johnson has insisted their achievement would not match that of the original invincibles.

"There have been a lot of comparisons between this Liverpool team and the Arsenal Invincibles, but for me, that Arsenal side just edge it," Johnson told BETDAQ.

"I grew up watching them and was absolutely in awe of what they were doing.

"Let's not forget that Arsenal went unbeaten and Liverpool still have a long way to go to match that, though I for one certainly wouldn't bet against them doing it!

"The two are hard to compare because Arsenal’s side was full of World Cup winners and the world’s best players, while Liverpool are so good as a team.

"They obviously have some world-class players like Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, but they work so well together you don’t really view them like that."
