Aug. 17--"Bachelorette" cast-off Mikey Tenerelli should find a new way to find love.
The Glen Ellyn native was eliminated on Sunday's episode of "Bachelor in Paradise," which puts former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" contestants in a Mexican resort and encourages them to pair up.
Tenerelli, who was cut in Season 9 of "The Bachelorette," tried to save himself from elimination in Sunday's episode by asking for a rose from Juelia Kinney, who ended up giving her rose to Kentuckian Joe Bailey, a finalist last season on "The Bachelorette."
"It's just a mistake," Tenerelli, 32, said about Kinney choosing Bailey, who admitted privately he wasn't interested in Kinney.
Tenerelli, Jonathan Holloway and Michael Garofola were eliminated in Sunday's episode after not getting roses. Despite his short stint on the show, Tenerelli seemed to enjoy his time in paradise, tweeting Sunday, "Thank you everyone for all your love and positivity! Would I do this again? YES!"
Contestants join the ABC show each week and leave when they don't get roses.
Naperville fitness trainer Justin Reich, who was eliminated last season on "The Bachelorette," is expected to join "Bachelor in Paradise" later this season.
Reich, 28, doesn't seem to be in contention to be the next "Bachelor."
Chicagoan Nick Viall, who was runner-up on the previous two "Bachelorette" seasons, said last week on a Huffington Post podcast he would "seriously consider" being the next "Bachelor" if he was offered the opportunity.
