Gleison Bremer responds to speculation linking him with Liverpool transfer

Gleison Bremer has rubbished speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, labelling reports that he has met with Jurgen Klopp as an 'urban legend'.

The Reds have suffered a torrid time at centre-back this season after losing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to season-long injuries back in the autumn, with Joel Matip suffering a similar fate in January.

With emergency stand-ins Fabinho and Jordan Henderson also enduring their own lengthy spells on the sidelines, the Reds were linked with a plethora of centre-backs before bringing in both Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies on the mid-season transfer deadline day.

First linked with Liverpool back in 2018, Gleison has continually been suggested as one of the Reds' reported targets before they opted to move elsewhere.

However, the Brazilian has dismissed such speculation and insisted he is happy at Torino despite such links to Klopp 's reigning Premier League champions.

"Everyone talks about Liverpool, but I don’t know anything," he told La Repubblica, quoted by Sport Witness. "And then, there’s an urban legend that Klopp came to compliment me.

"I’m fine in Turin, especially after overcoming the language barrier."
