Glee star Heather Morris' has left a heartfelt tribute to former castmate Naya Rivera on the first anniversary of her tragic death.
The former Dancing With The Stars contestant took to Instagram on Thursday - exactly one year on from when Naya drowned during a boating trip in Ventura County, California.
The 34-year-old actress opened up to her 1.1 million followers and told how she is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of her friend.
And in a poignant post she shared a freshly inked tattoo tribute with one of the star's final tweets, with the design reading: "Tomorrow is not promised."
She also shared a video of her getting the tattoo before offering up a closer look to the artwork on her Instagram Story.
She penned: "I'm so grateful GOD LAYED A HAND and brought us together as best friends, mom friends, scene partners, and everything in between," she wrote.
The 34-year-old said she was happy to have known Naya as shared tribute images of a statue towering over her friend's gravesite.
Morris wrapped up her outpouring with: "Rivera's legacy lives on in kindness and being 'that sassy queen' in my eyes. I love you forever bebe girl."
Her second shot showed Rivera enjoying herself and flashing a wide smile.
Naya shared a tweet six days before she died encouraging everyone to make the most of life.
The actress' tweet in full reads: "No matter the year, circumstance, or strifes everyday you're alive is a blessing. make the most of today and every day you are given. tomorrow is not promised."
Tragedy struck when Naya drowned during a boating trip with her young son Josey at Lake Piru exactly one year ago.
Concerns were raised after the boat she'd hired didn't return at the arranged time, and authorities launched a search for the star and her son.
Divers recovered her body five days later, with a subsequent autopsy noting that accidental drowning was the cause of her passing.
The tragic passing of one of the stand-out cast members of the Glee show has hit co-stars, friends and her huge following of fans.
Naya's Glee co-stars paid tribute as Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz and Lea Michele posted about their late castmate on social media.
Ushkowitz, 35, who played Tina Cohen-Chang, posted a photo of Naya with the caption: "Always a light, always with us. My heart is with you and your family today. [heart emoji] love you Nougs."
Michele, 34, who played Rachel Berry, shared a black and white snap of Naya performing classic Funny Girl song Don't Rain On My Parade.
McHale, 33, who played Artie Abrams wrote: "I miss you. Every single day."
