Glazers want Ed Woodward to do one thing at Man Utd in summer transfer window

The Glazers want Ed Woodward to ensure players are sold at Manchester United in this summer's transfer window to free up funds, according to reports.

The Red Devils recently had a £70million bid for Harry Maguire rejected by Leicester City, who are holding out for a figure closer to £80m.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to strengthen his defence this summer and has already signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for £50m.

There are still funds available to sign more players, and Manchester United have been linked to a handful of stars including Portugal international midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

But the Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Glazers want to see some of the 'deadwood' sold on before more money is spent.

One player who is potentially on the chopping block is Marcos Rojo.

The centre-back, who has no future at United, was valued at around £30m last summer but the club failed to move him on.

The report adds that the Glazers' insistence that players are sold before new ones are brought in frustrated Jose Mourinho during his spell in charge of the club.
