Glazers survey results: Manchester United fans unanimously make decision on club's American owners

Manchester United fans have made their feelings clear when responding to a Manchester Evening News' survey on the Super League.

Last month's collapsed proposal to create a closed shop league was met with intense backlash from seemingly everyone involved with football, and anger from United fans over the Glazers' ownership resurfaced as supporters made their voices heard.

In almost unprecedented scenes, United fans mobilised to protest against the Glazers' ownership earlier this month and, while it was mostly a peaceful demonstration, supporters broke into Old Trafford which caused the postponement of the Liverpool fixture.

Responding to the Super League fallout, the MEN published a survey to gauge fan's feelings over the issue, asking multiple questions to United supporters and we now have the results available, although they probably aren't surprising.

When asked if United fans supported their owners before the Super League proposal, 83 per cent responded no. And when asked if they support the Glazers now, that number rose to 91 per cent of supporters that are against the owners.

Ed Woodward tendered his resignation amid the Super League fallout, and when fans were asked if Woodward had done a good job at United across his tenure, 91 per cent of supporters answered a resounding no.

The Goverment have ordered a review into English football and one of their priorities is to consider fan ownership, and when asked if United fans like the idea of supporter ownership, 79 per cent answered yes, 5 per cent answered no and 15 per cent said not sure.

Finally, when asked if fans will still give United money through ticket sales or merchandise, 56 per cent answered no and 44 per cent answered yes, meaning that question was the most divisive of the four on the survey.
