Hogwarts Express caught on camera as train made famous by Harry Potter rolls into Glasgow

Potterheads turned out in their hundreds to see the famous Hogwarts Express pass through Glasgow.

The Jacobite passed through a number of stations as it headed to its winter base on Monday evening.

Fans of the Harry Potter franchise headed to Bowling, Dalmuir, Drumchapel and Westerton to catch a glimpse of the famous train - a little later than originally planned.

The Jacobite features in several of the Harry Potter films, with scenes filmed at the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which overlooks Loch Shiel and the Jacobite monument.

Despite the excitement surrounding the journey, concerns were raised about a lack of social distancing and face coverings being worn among spectators.

ScotRail urged the public to "use their common sense and take personal responsibility for their actions" following complaints that train staff weren't doing enough to control the crowds.

The journey marked the end of The Jacobite's summer season which sees it take passengers along the West Highland rail line between Fort William and Mallaig.
