Glaswegians treated to 'free' Muse gig as Bellahouston Park show heard across the city

Muse fans have hailed the band's 'phenomenal' Glasgow show which was also enjoyed sonically by residents all across the city.

The rock band played to a massive crowd at Bellahouston Park on Friday with heavy rain failing to dampen the Glaswegian spirit.

And, despite taking place in the south side, locals reported hearing the sounds of the gig in all corners of the city - from Maryhill to parts of Renfrewshire.

Glasgow Live reader Kloe Revell said: "We can hear Muse all the way over the west end & Maryhill. I’m Patrick it’s quite a crisp clear sound you can make out the drummer quite well."

On social media, Glaswegians were dumbfounded by the lengths the sound was travelling.

James Harrison said: "Nice of Muse to be providing a free gig for the whole South and West of Glasgow just now."

Users replied saying they could hear it in Springburn, Knightswood, and in the east end.

Paul F Scott added: "Everyone in Glasgow is attending tonight's Muse concert, whether they like it or not."

Another person added: "Just here chilling in my house, enjoying a free Muse concert from the west end of Glasgow."

Those living in the south side seemed to have missed it.

Stevie on Twitter commented: "Can't decide if it's a curious scientific phenomenon or an undiagnosed medical condition that means I live around the corner from this and yet can't hear a thing."

It could be long weekend for those looking for a peaceful life with Arctic Monkeys performing at the park on Sunday followed by Guns N' Roses on Tuesday.
