Glaswegian who was treated by Irish doctor trying to hunt him down to take him on a date

We're suckers for love in the Irish Mirror office and there's a love story that could be brewing if things go the right way.

In olden days, you would send a carrier pigeon to your paramour, or even head down to the dance halls to try your luck with the person you had your eye on.

Nowadays though, things a bit more modern with the likes of Tinder, Grindr and Bumble all attracting thousands of users every day.

TikTok is also fast becoming a popular option for those looking for dates - including one Scot who has his eyes set on a very particular Irishman.

David Muir took to the clip-sharing app with a video entitled "Can this happen" and explained his situation.

David Muir is looking for the Irish doctor who treated him recently (@thedavidmuir/Tiktok)

He told his followers: "This is a message for the anaesthetist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital" begins The David Muir (although there was a slight confusion over what hospital it was at first).

"If you're not the anaesthetist at the Queen Elizabeth in Glasgow, just keep scrolling.

"So basically, I've waited a week now, and I was waiting to see if you would find me or if you'd put a message out there to find me.

"But it seems you're not going to do that so I'll do it, I'll be brave enough, I'll be the one.

"Last time you seen me I would have been in a gown and you couldn't find my veins, remember? We had quite a laugh about it.

"Then I said to you I hope you're strong enough to roll me over onto my front because I was getting a back operation, remember... we had quite a laugh together.

"I feel like in different circumstances... this might work, you know? So, do you want to go for a drink some time?

"Remember, you're Irish, just in case you don't know its you, you're irish and you have glasses and nice kinda curl- very attractive, young man. Let's see if this can happen."

So, if you can remember treating David and having a bit of a laugh, make sure to get in touch!
