Glaswegian makes 1,000 paper cranes for homeless charity fundraising bid

A Glaswegian is bidding to raise £1,000 for a homeless charity after making 1,000 paper cranes.

Inspired by the Japanese legend which states a person who folds 1,000 cranes will be granted one wish from the gods, Nicola Tafe is hoping to contribute to ending homeless in Glasgow by generating money for Social Bite.

Nicola's dad sadly died in May and she is encouraging fellow Glaswegians to donate £1 towards the fundraising target in honour of loved ones they have lost.

The result of weeks of folding (Nicola Tafe)

Having spent a number of weeks folding the cranes, Nicola is hoping to string them all together and fly them from the roof top of the car park in Bath Street in Glasgow city centre while she makes her wish.

Social Bite, who we've featured previously on Glasgow Live, is a social business on a mission to build a collaborative movement to end homelessness in Scotland.

To donate to Nicola's fundraiser, you can visit the GoFundMe page here.
