Glastonbury viewers say same thing as 'rock royalty' Blondie perform greatest hits

Glastonbury viewers all said the same thing as 'rock royalty' Blondie took to the Pyramid Stage to perform their greatest hits.

Fronted by Debbie Harry, the US band played tracks including One Way Or Another, Will Anything Happen and Heart of Glass. The star wore a a black sequinned skirt and jacket paired with dark visor sunglasses.

But fans were left distracted as they 'couldn't believe' her real age. Debbie was 29 when she first joined Blondie - which was known as Angel and the Snake, before it was changed.

This makes her 77 now - and fans were impressed by her star performance. Taking to Twitter, viewers were in awe of her youthful looks.

@Russltfc said: "Blondie is my mums age and still rocking @glastonbury she really is rock royalty!!!!!!!" while @stanthekopite said: "Blondie is 77 years old! Same age as my mum. I hope I can move like her when I'm bloody 47. She looks and sound amazing".

@LeedSTUnited added: "Hope I look as good as #Blondie when I’m her age. You go girl" while @WelshQueen5 agreed: "77 years of age & still rocking Glastonbury. Debbie Harry is a Queen".

@brian_frisby commented: "Debbie Harry is 78 next week! Redefining ‘old age’ and being elderly’ on the #pyramidstage at #glastonbury2023" while @teenamassam said: "Just googled Blondie’s age, can’t believe she’s 77 yrs old" and @siobhanrowe hoped: "Life goals - I want to be like Debbie Harry when I am that age".

This isn't Blondie's first outing at Glastonbury as the band has played the festival twice before, first in 1999 and again in 2014. Drummer Clem Burke let slip that Blondie would be playing Glastonbury again this year live during a live radio interview.

While speaking to Foxy Radio in February he said: "We’re also doing Isle of Wight Festival and some other festivals… I guess the full list of artists to be playing Glastonbury hasn’t really been announced yet. But we are going to be playing Glastonbury, so maybe you’ve got an exclusive there.”

Sunday is the festival's closing night, with Elton John due to headline the Pyramid Stage, while Queens of the Stone Age take to the Other Stage. Audiences have been treated to performances from Lizzo, Lewis Capaldi, Lana Del Rey and Guns N' Roses over the weekend.
