Glastonbury line-up: Sean Paul revealed as Saturday headliner on John Peel Stage

Sean Paul has been revealed as the Saturday night headliner on the John Peel Stage at this year’s Glastonbury.

Rumours about who would take the coveted slot had been circulating around the internet, with Foals, Diplo and Robyn among the suggested performers.

However, Paul has now put an end to any speculation by confirming he will top the bill on Saturday night, playing from 10.30-11.45pm.

The dancehall icon will follow the likes of Bugzy Malone, Sharon Van Etten and Low on the line-up for June 29. On Friday, Interpol will headline the John Peel Stage, while The Streets take the top spot on Sunday.

The late announcement means fans will be scouring the Glastonbury line-up to check whether Paul’s set will lead to any major set clashes. As it stands, he will be up against The Killers, The Chemical Brothers, Wu-Tang Clan and Hot Chip on the festival’s main stages.

However, the John Peel stage is undercover, which means that if the weather turns wet — which it very well may do — then Paul’s set might be especially popular.

This year’s festival, which will be the first edition since 2017, will welcome Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure as headliners, with Tame Impala, Christine and the Queens and Janelle Monáe among the other big names set to perform.

The line-up, as always, is utterly humongous — which is why we’ve put together a handy list of 20 must-see acts that you might have missed further down the line-up.
