Glastonbury headliners spotted doing 'normal jobs'

A man has used AI to imagine what some of Glastonbury's top acts would look like doing 'normal jobs’.

As Glastonbury 2023 is just six days away, headliners Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses, Elton John are preparing for their huge performances. Hilarious images using artificial intelligence show Elton John on a supermarket checkout, Alex Turner as a milkman and Axl Rose as a mechanic.

Lana Del Rey is also featured as policewoman, rocker Slash can be seen working as a fast food chef - and Kelis in a drive-thru. Creator Duncan Thomsen, 53, says he wasn't aiming for a retro look but is happy with the results. The freelance film editor, from Brighton, said: "They actually look really real, they look just like them.

"I did them all in about a day, but you can work on one of these for up to a few days. They look quite retro which wasn't intentional but they look very cool.

“I particularly like the second one of Elton when he's looking over his shoulder - it looks just like him. I also think the one of Alex Turner as a 1960's milkman looks really cool. It really fits his vibe - if he was around in the 60s I think he would be a milkman.

He added: “Lana Del Rey also quite simply looks so cool as a policewoman. That one turned out very well." AI responds to prompts and commands set by the user and creates pictures by referencing billions of images online.

Duncan uses the software Midjourney to make his own hyper-realistic photos. He said: “It can be quite a lengthy process but the results are fantastic. I've been to Glastonbury myself 13 times but didn't manage to get a ticket this year.

“Which is a shame as the lineup is clearly fantastic. These pictures are just a way to join the fun and I'm very happy with how realistic and fun they are."

Glastonbury Festival takes place on June 21 to June 26 2023.
