Glastonbury headliners booked for next two years

The fate of your next two Glastonbury festivals is sealed, with founder Michael Eavis revealing that he has booked six headliners.

Eavis and his daughter Emily have been busy deciding which acts will top the bill on the iconic Pyramid Stage and have completed the job for both 2016 and 2017.

BBC Radio 1 teased some details out of Eavis at the Association of Independent Music Awards on Tuesday night and discovered that two of the artists or bands are new to Glastonbury and four are returning to the line-up's top spot.

Foo Fighters are favourites to headline next year's festival after they had to pull out of the 2015 event when frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg.

Other rumoured acts include Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, Muse, Elton John, Adele, Prince and even controversial pop singer Miley Cyrus.

It was announced last week that tickets for next summer's Glastonbury will go on sale at 9am on Sunday 4 October. Hopeful festival-goers must register in advance on the Glastonbury website or enter their email addresses to retrieve their previous registration details.

The 2016 festival will run from 22 to 26 June with ticket prices yet to be confirmed.
