Glastonbury Festival confirm Lana Del Rey will perform on Pyramid Stage

Lana Del Rey has been confirmed to perform at Glastonbury Festival 2020.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis announced the addition of the American singer-songwriter, who will join other confirmed acts including Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney and Wolf Alice, on Twitter earlier today (February 13).

She wrote: "Am very happy to tell you that the wonderful Lana Del Rey will he playing on the Pyramid stage this year."

The 34-year-old made her debut at the Somerset event, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, in 2014 with a set that received mixed reviews.

The Independent labelled her a 'big disappointment, even to some or her loyal fans,' with her biggest tracks going 'largely unnoticed by a distracted crowd'.

But NME praised her Saturday afternoon performance, writing 'her voice throughout the set was pitch perfect, strong, rich and vibrating with emotion'.

The singer, whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, rose to fame in 2011 following the release of Video Games .

Her major label debut Born to Die in 2012 proved an international success and launched her to stardom, with tracks including Blue Jeans , National Anthem and the album's title track all receiving widespread radio airtime.

As of 2020, the star has sold 19.1 million albums and over 13 million singles worldwide. Her YouTube and Vevo pages have combined lifetime views of a staggering 3.5 billion.

The day on which Lana Del Rey will perform at the festival is not yet known, but it will definitely be on the Pyramid Stage.
