Glastonbury Festival 2022: When does it start and who is headlining?

It is just a few weeks to go until Worthy Farm is filled with festival goers as the popular Glastonbury Festival returns for the first time since 2019. The five-day event is set to welcome hundreds of thousands of music fans back to the popular site after the 2020 and 2021 festivals were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.

Organiser Emily Eavis shared images on her social media back in May showing the Pyramid Stage being assembled on the farm. The festival is set to welcome an array of musical artists such as Years and Years, Diana Ross, Pet Shop Boys, Olivia Rodrigo, Jamie T and many more.

So if you're wondering when the music event is starting, how you can watch and who will be headlining, we've got all the details you need:

When does the Glastonbury Festival 2022 start?

The 2022 Glastonbury Festival is taking place from Wednesday, June 22 to Sunday, June 26. Tickets for Glastonbury 2022 were snapped up quickly as deposits made by customers for the 2020 festival were rolled over for a second year after the team at Worthy Farm had to cancel the festival due to the pandemic.

But if you weren't lucky enough to bag a ticket to the big event - it doesn't mean you have to miss out. You'll still be able to watch performances thanks to the BBC, who will be broadcasting live from the festival from Thursday,

Music fans will be able to watch all the action over on the iPlayer. There will be a dedicated Glastonbury channel which will launch on June 23, providing a four day live stream of performances and all the latest from the festival will be available to viewers. Over 35 hours of coverage will also be broadcast across its channels.

Who will be headlining at Glastonbury 2022?

There are plenty of acts taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage over the three day nights of live music. The last acts to take to the Pyramid across the weekend will be Billie Eilish, Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar, the stage will also welcome performances from Sam Fender, Haim and Diana Ross and many more.

Glastonbury released the full line-up details at the end of last month and you can view the full line-up for all of Glastonbury's stages here. Here's the full weekend line-up for the Pyramid Stage:
