The legendary Sir David Attenborough has made a surprise appearance at Glastonbury to unveil his new BBC show.
The broadcaster addressed an enormous crowd at the Pyramid Stage earlier this afternoon (June 30) before showing a four-minute preview of the series.
Highlighting the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans, the naturalist thanked Glastonbury for going plastic free.
“There was one sequence in Blue Planet 2 which everyone seems to remember," he told the crowd.
"It was one in which we showed what plastic has done to the creatures that live in the ocean.
“It had an extraordinary effect and now this great festival has gone plastic free.
“That is more than a million bottles of water have not been drunk by you in plastic. Thank you."
The 93-year-old then treated fans to a preview of the new BBC series.
"The oceans cover two-thirds of this planet of ours. There is one third which we occupy all the time – the land. That only covers one-third of the globe. Each of them has its own marvellous creatures – birds and mammals and animals or all kinds," Sir David said.
"Each of them has its own glory. Each of them has its own problems. We are making for the last four years, a series about those seven very different continents.
"It starts later on this year. It is called ‘Seven Worlds, One Planet’."
